Our Lady of Immaculate Confection

Our Lady of Immaculate Confection

Our Lady of Immaculate Confection was a commissioned painting created for a dear friend who trained as a pastry chef. She encouraged me to use all things delicious to adorn the Virgin Mary. It is not intended to deface the Virgin but revel in her greatness and her place as a woman... even the Virgin Mary had PMS.

The title derives from Our Lady of Immaculate Conception. The style and mood of the painting is similar to that of Our Lady of Guadeloupe. The opulence of this painting lies in the use of color and pattern.  Enjoy the eye candy.

"Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our sweetness and our hope"
